I know I said I was going to wait until October, but it was right there on the shelf. I got the Nintendo Switch today with Zelda. I was wrong.

This system is exactly what I wanted next from Nintendo. It's the perfect marriage of the failed Wii U and the 3DS.
It's not really a fully baked console yet. I get that. There are about 3 or 4 games to play on it that are worth anything right now.
But man does it do exactly what it says on the box so very well. You play it on the TV and then you play it NOT on the TV.
And Zelda Breath of the Wild? Hooolyshiiiiit. The opening area where you have no tutorial like usual, but you're kind of learning how to play? I spent 6 hours like nothing in that section.
It truly feels like the original Legend of Zelda where they hand you a sword and are like, have at it.
It feels like Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto where they've built a living, breathing world that will go on existing even if you don't.
And it's hard! Not like, I hate playing it throw the joy-con across the room hard. But certainly, damn, maybe I need to think about approaching this a different way hard.
And for anyone who's complaining about framerate loss, the original game (among others) had sprite slowdown too.
