I have near zero doubt that it came from Trump. It was basically best case scenario leak for him. The question I was left with was what do you do if

you're Rachel Maddow and you get that. It is unquestionably newsworthy, even if it doesn't really tell you much. It's also a rating bonanza. But I think the answer is you have to report it, but not hype it. Focus on its deficiencies in providing information rather than a "we finally got something big" approach.
