I bet that if they didn't get renewed, that the finale was written so that the dad went to the bar, and ultimately died during the episode somehow.

Such a misdirection to have the daughter say that the reason he died was her fault but to then never actually pay off on that.

Seems clear to me that they changed the plot line to extend the narrative.

Not my favorite episode.
