the jobs aren't coming back. Some more will get laid off.
Before they get laid off however, environmental regulations will be shredded, exposing them to more toxins and dangers, making them sicker than they would have been...
Then, because the social/health safety net takes hit after hit they won't get proper healthcare or financial assistance.
It feels like that scene in "Good Will Hunting"...
FWIW, I at least understood why these people voted for him. They're seeing their opportunity being taken away by Change which must be terrifying. Not much else matters if you can't feed your family. I have a lot more sympathy for these people than the people who voted for him so he'd keep all the terrorists out.
