I don't think you're supposed to care for it, you're supposed to have a reaction to it. (as art though, I'm not sure it says anything different from

If the most interesting thing about the painting is whether the artist in question has a "right" to that subject matter, for me it fails as art. -- nm

I didn't understand it until I read the caption. Not really the subject matter I'd want at home. I say its a museum only piece -- nm
