Right, Caleb went home because of random chance. Producer meddling blew up his alliance and left him with no chance.
Malcolm went home because his tribe failed to anticipate an opponent having an immunity idol. All the members of his tribe were outplayed, although a lot of that was JT's fault.
Kim and I are 100% against producer meddling and say so about every other recap. Having said that, we actually suggested this very concept, two tribes voting on one player, about ten years ago. I've been waiting for it the whole time.
And the idol is another example of producer meddling. We joked in the recap that it's easy to imagine a producer throwing a clue right in front of Tai to ramp up the drama.
