I am on a statin. Other than the small percentage that have a liver issue it's got several benefits.

Fights inflammation, so they are finding benefits with brain issues, cancer related benefits etc.
You get blood tested to see if the liver is okay so that covers you there.
Better a statin than open heart surgery.
