As I found out with my Alaska cruise. The Aurora is something hard to forecast. Luck is involved a bit.

WE had a high forecast one night and it fizzled. Still have never seen the Northern Lights in person

Not really. Tough to predict locally, super easy regionally. Plane can just fly to where they are. -- nm

sounds like when i went to Ayers Rock (AKA Uluru) because 'it changes color at sunset.' but it didn't that night .

We get them this far south, but mix in the city lights and the frequent overcast and I haven't seen em yet -- nm
