So I work from home, right? There's an office I can go into if I need in a big building in town, but that happens maybe twice a year.

It's about a 20-25 minutes walk, or two subway stops to get there, but as I said, I really never go there.

Anyway, last night I was out for a good long walk enjoying some mild weather. I meandered around pretty aimlessly, just enjoying the city and the weather and, at one point, I realize I'm coming toward my office building. As I approach the building, I notice concrete barriers, like the ones they use to line road constructions zones, all around the building. Those are new, never seen those before. There were gaps between them so pedestrians could pass, so access to the building was available but I was trying to figure out if there had been some threat against the building or something?

So as I walk past the building, I see three police officers, in uniform, standing there and behind them I notice a mobile NYPD building and an access barrier on the street on the south side of the building. Weird. Then I hear a woman trying to walk down that cross street arguing with the three cops about why she can't pass. Eventually one of them says "you can go if you want, but the Secret Service will stop you and you can answer to them"

Apparently my office building backs up to Trump Tower. Who knew? (Also, I apparently haven't been to the office since the election)
