I was hooked from beginning to end.
Questions for readers of the comics:
1) Was Logan involved in killing the other mutants\X-Men? They seemed to hint that he was. - I think that was all Charles. In the comic it is Logan who kills them all.
2) Did Logan and Professor X die in the comics? No and yes.
3) Were mutants genetically eliminated like the movie? No, the good mutants and heroes were all killed by the villains
My only real quibble was the uninspired clone Wolverine. It seems like really myopic thinking to consider him the ultimate weapon when a cloned Professor X could do some much more damage.
HUGE Old Man Logan spoilers follow; read the comic/TPB rather than read this as it is awesome; but:
The Old Man Logan comic was essentially a future world in the aftermath of the villains banding together to kill the heroes. Mysterio tricks Logan into killing all the X-Men, he blames himself and just stops fighting or popping his claws. America was split up by the villains. Logan lives on a farm with his wife and 2 kids and pays dues to the Hulk Family who rule his area (Banner went super-bad and his family are all inbred hillbilly hulks). Hawkeye (who is blind) shows up and gets Logan's help, they have a bunch of adventures; Logan needed the money Hawkeye offers to pay off the Hulks; Logan returns too late and the Hulks have killed his family...Logan teaches them the error of their ways.
One of my all-time favorite comic book stories.
