Boxing thoughts from the Triple G and Chocolatito fights...(spoilers)

Chocalitito won his fight. The other guy was a hellicious puncher who took tremendous punishment early on. By the mid rounds he was backing down. By the end he was literally running. He won that fight on Chocolatito's bloody face. That shouldn't happen. FWIW, that was the fight of the year (but barely. There will be a better one to come along).

Triple G should have lost. He didn't do enough. Although I'm not a huge Triple G fan. I don't dislike him, he gets that the way to make money is to put on a fireworks show and he'll do it. He styles himself a Mexican fighter but he's just not. The Eastern European/Russian technical style of boxing is in his DNA. And yet - Canelo is running from him. As Diva pointed out, Canelo is likely pulling a Mayweather and he's waiting until Triple G ages to Canelo's advantage. Canelo vs. Triple G needs to happen no later than next year.
