I really don't know why CW wouldn't pick up Chuck if they could.

They have a working relationship with the creator. It has nearly 2.5 times the ratings (total and key demo) as his show for their network. Which they scheduled against Chuck for some odd reason, and they seem to tout it as a hit. Chuck also bests their top show, at least I think it is, by a full ratings point overall and more than half a point in the key demo (where the majority of that show's ratings come from).
