Like, home from work all week sick.
For anyone who cares, I caught a cold about 3 weeks ago. Started in my head, settled in my chest. Made it harder to breathe (groiny & I share an illness). The head cold cleared up and I was at work last week. Monday at work my breathing got much more labored and my rescue inhaler wasn't helping (I don't think I've announced that I apparently have had asthma for a while before the chronic bronchitis kicked in). Went home. Woke up Tuesday with severe sinus pain. Contacted my pulmonologist who said the cold probably turned into sinusitis. She prescribed (yet another course of) prednisone and something called amox-clave 875-125 (a penicillin-like antibiotic according to google). Yesterday my head started draining and the sinus pain lessened. Very early this morning I started having coughing fits and a little while ago started coughing up solid bits from my lungs. So I guess the prednisone is working to loosen the tightness so gunk can move on out. I'm taking today off and tomorrow is a regular day off. Hopefully, I'll be good to get back to work Monday. Thank goodness for FMLA. I'll be paying back sick time til the end of the year (I've also taken some days without pay) but without it I'd probably be out of job if I worked somewhere else.
