Game of Thrones has also traditionally been a series that takes almost glee in zigging or zagging away from the obvious choice. I could easily see a case when a noble sacrifice of Dany and Jon takes place as part of the endgame with the White Walkers leaving them the heroes but not rulers.

(That would also potentially open up a gap for Tyrion as well, though that's pretty fan servicing too.)

I like the idea of Cersei as a Night Queen, but my hunch is hers is a rather ignoble death in the penultimate episode.
