i have a "travelling in Europe" question (maybe 2) for anyone who might have some recent travelling experience ...

if i can swing it financially, i'm considering a trip to England by year's end. early next year at the latest, depending on how the financials work out for me.

i'm wondering ... if i get a burner phone ahead of time, is there anything special (besides the international dialing codes or whatever) that I would have to do to use it over there calling home? i should be able to use it, right? it might just burn through the minutes to make an international call?

also, i'm trying to find out if i would need an adapter / power converter. because i'll probably want to take my laptop w/ me. where's the best place to look for one? Electronic Express? somewhere else? I need to start looking around in case this happens ... it's been too many years for me to care admitting to since i last traveled outside the country, and it's like starting all over again for me in the prep work.
