Andie, that's great advice.

We have four water bowls out in three different rooms. She closely monitors all of them and will notify the management if anything isn't satisfactory. Tamara's never had a problem telling us what she wants (and how she expects us to behave).
What's always fascinated us about Tamara is that she loves the sound of running water. We suspect that she had like a pond or a brook or something that was her safe spot when she was a stray. When it thunders and lightnings here, the other two cats run and hide. She considers that Daddy/Daughter time. She comes running up to my lap and purrs. Any sound of water soothes her.
So, what we do is leave the bathtub faucet running occasionally to make her happy. We realized she probably had dehydration issues when she started licking the tub, which freaked me out since we pour Drano there occasionally.
We've since adapted and now she "takes baths" with us. One of us will get in the tub, and she'll sit on the side of it, sleeping contentedly. We leave a fluffy bath towel on the side for her to lay on.
The reason why the situation is tolerable for us is that she seems as happy as we can ever remember her. We used to call her Goth Girl. She's gotten clingier and more loving as she's gotten older.
