We will never see the dog again. Some staffer in the WH will be the person who takes care of it, and who it actually lives with. When Trump eventually moves out of the WH someone will ask him about the dog and he'll say, after a moment of having to remember that he supposedly has a dog, "one of my favorite employees just loved him (the dog will be a him, not a her, of course), I knew that with my busy schedule (dog) would be much happier living with someone who can spend more time with him."
