In response to "Someone got an insane amount of data, and created a National Precinct Map for the 2008, 2012, and 2016 elections -- (link*)" by MDH

Three initial thoughts leap out:

1) The west coast isn't nearly as blue as it thinks it is and once again following the pattern of urban-rural splits.

2) The large deep blue spot in the southwest: Has to be a combination of cities (Denver, Santa Fe, etc), but are those counties big urban-rural hybrids?

3) Look at Wisconsin. It's switch to red began in 2012.
