put in a retaining wall.
Our yard slopes a lot so it really needs to be leveled out and split into 2 levels. Then once the top part of the yard is leveled out, it can be made into the raised beds. Right now, if we add soil to level out the garden area, there's nothing to keep the dirt in because of the sloping. But retaining walls = $$$$$ so that's not really something we want to have to do.
