I may be naive, but there are very few circumstances I can think of that would result in me getting forcible removed from an airplane

it is so out of the realm of normality for my experiences and demeanor that I cannot help but lay some question at the feet of a person who can reach a place mentally to have to be removed. I also wouldn't put fault at the airline for what the Chicago Transit cop did. That blame lies squarely on them. And any outrage I feel over the airline policies, actions, lack of action or hindsight in how to deal with this is still tempered with the first point of, don't make a scene on an airplane.
