You're in a foreign country. You're not speaking your first language. Someone is acting aggressive to you. You'd naturally act resistant to anything they said. It's basic human nature.
I understand that you don't want to blame the airline for the brutality of a security guard. That ignores causality, though. United employees chose not to negotiate to find an acceptable outcome. It was an aggravation on a Monday for them. So, they called in a showing of force. They triggered the outcome that has cost the company millions of dollars in stock and future lost revenue.
I could care less about any of that.
What I care about is that someone thinks that it's okay to knock out somebody else as a part of their daily job. There's no defense of that. None.
