Like so many things about Facebook, I think you look at it with curiosity and an open mind if it's somebody you know well and like, just in case it's

clever or something meaningful to you both; but just find ignorable or annoying if it's somebody you don't know well. Unfortunately, most of us have friended a whole lot of people we don't know well.
