It isn't very different from other electric pressure cookers, but it does have a yogurt maker function, and some others. -- nm

Yep, love it. Great for soups and stews. Beans only need to be rinsed, not soaked overnight. -- nm

I want to try chili with (dry) black beans. Do I need to do this in steps? Cook beans first, then add meat, then veggies etc? Or can I just throw

I've had good luck just throwing things in. If you want to brown the meat first, you can do it in there, but the pressure does a good job

I never precook my meat when using a crock pot, but wasn't sure if I needed to do it with this.

I did a beef stew each way. They were both good. The non-browned one had a lighter flavor. -- nm

We do and my gf loves it. I don't use it but she does and makes different meat dishes and lots of tasty broth. -- nm
