He definitely loves fucking people up. Like a kid crushing ants on the sidewalk. So much hate in him. The only thing that snapped Vader out of the years of hate, is seeing OB1 again, in EPIV--then he started to understand who Luke is and the good starts seeping in.
There could be something to your theory. Asshole wolf hunters do it with wolves--kill an entire pack, let one go (with a tracker), so when the wolf finds another pack, it becomes a whole new, shooting gallery.
