When Team #1 averages 35 points per game and the final score is 17-14...I'm not giving the winning QB all that much credit.

especially given the Tyree catch is a literal 1 in a million play. From the escape from the lineman to the throw to the actual catch against the helmet...it's a fluke play that justifiably would have ended the game.
The 2nd year, again, the Pats averaged 30+...and again, scored half.
What Eli did on offense in both games wouldn't have mattered if Osi/JPP/Strahan/Tuck etc etc hadn't halved the Patriots offensive outputs.
