I have lights controlled by my phone (and alexa). it's pretty cool, actually.

my attic has three rooms: stairway, guest room, lounge. they're all on the same switch so previously people had to turn off the lights downstairs and stumble upstairs in the dark. now, you just tell alexa (or your phone) which lights you want off.

also cool:
my outside lights, dining room light, and living room light all turn on 50% as I'm walking up to my house at night.

also cool: my dining room lamp has no switch so I used to have touch the lamp to turn it off. no longer, yo.
