I thought of that and I'm pretty sure that's what I'd say if I did decide to go through the insurance.

It just makes no sense to have a repair cost the same as a total replacement of the phone.
I'm looking at videos of people that have replaced their screens and I'll likely go that route before reporting my phone "lost".
