Pence scares me on actual policy, but he is a "normal" politician, who understands and (I believe, unless he's learned the value of acting otherwise)

respects the value of the institution of government. Trump scares me because he truly wants to be a dictator and run the government solely for his own benefit. And aside from the damage that does institutionally and to the psyche of the country, I'm also afraid he's going to alienate us from the rest of the world and maybe get us all killed. So Pence is definitely bad, but he is sort of "normal bad". I would hope on some level his connection to Trump would also undermine his authority to claim a mandate for his ideas.
