Yes, I would have thought that would have weight. And if there was a primary where he was facing another Republican challenger I think he would lose.

But switching sides for people is different. Not to mention that (as I said above), it's not only about whether they trust the media, it's that they think they are the enemy. So assaulting one of them is not so bad to them.
