Yes. Part of the power of those crying #FakeNews at every bad (true) headline is that they can point to manipulations like this as evidence.

Take yesterday's meme-storm about the "non-smiling pope". It was easy to find pictures of him not looking sour if one chose to look for them. Every time it happens - and it happens a lot - it makes it easier for those trying to marginalize the mainstream media.
