Canadian e-commerce is still the pits, and Air Canada's website is evidence of that.

Yesterday it couldn't find my confirmation number for the flight I booked through Expedia. Today, it found it, and I tried to pick my seats, but then it wouldn't let me checkout. So I called. Canadians live up to their friendliness. Heck, even on a couple of occasions when I had to call Quebec ministries and I forced them to speak English, they were supremely polite.
Anyway, saved myself a few hundred bucks because the agent on the phone gave me the seat assignments for free, since I'm traveling with children. I get it. If I hadn't booked my seats, they would have just shuffled everyone around at the airport to make sure we traveled together. But I'm glad this is taken care of anyway.
