I really enjoy that she takes a fairly minor side police character in one novel (who is often somewhat antagonistic towards the lead) and then spins that character off as the lead in the next novel.
So the next novel is about Cassie and then the following one is about someone who is at the edge of Cassie's story.
Also, her prose is *gorgeous*
