Don't defend the squirrel!

OK, I laughed at the video. I used to love all squirrels and I still do, as long as they're not burying unshelled peanuts (given out by a neighbor) in my gardens.

They taunt me in the street when they see me coming. I speed up but they jump away in time.

A few weeks ago a very large dead squirrel was just outside my back door. I suspect a feral cat was making a gift of it. There's this one cat that keeps peering in the back window from the back or the loveseat on the other side of the window. It makes one of my cats livid. You should hear the screams. He saw the same cat out the front door the other day and didn't make a sound.

I have to make sure there are no squirrels on the ground in the back before I let the cats out. They haven't mastered tree climbing but will jump up and grab onto the trunk if they chase a squirrel to it. Then they can't figure out what to do next. It's a small area so I can get to the tree and grab the cat before he thinks of climbing.
