on the prairies we have something called a plough wind, which is bascially a tornado without the tornado. 5-6 years ago, we're at my parents place

and one of these hits. Black as night in the middle of the day, gale force winds, stuff floating down the street and thundercracks overhead, 15 foot round trees getting uprooted. We're all staring out the window watching this happen and my wife is agape trying to figure out why we're not the corner of the basement.
