it's a regular, I think, event. Friday subway rides into town are normally a little more calm than other weekdays *cough* workfromhome...
Today it was a *%$# zoo on the way in. Predictably, there was a gaggle of young lads clustered around the door. These kids looked like the typical, upper-class kids with family memberships to yacht clubs. I hate these kids. I grew up with them. Not to tar an entire demo but they're all going to grow up to be beer funneling, lacrosse playing, date rapists.
The fact that they were in front of the door was not entirely their fault, as they were sort of the last ones in. But people really needed to get out and they weren't moving. So I waded in and sort of tersely remarked, "you're kind of in the perfect spot to be in the way." Predictably helicopter Dad, esq. shot back, "they're fine." I snapped to look at him and said, "actually, they're not, but they'll learn (from this)." Dad and I eyeballed each other and then I stepped off the train. I wanted to stab him in the crotch with my phone (he wouldn't have entirely deserved this but just a little).
I'm probably being a prissy urbanite but the NYC'ers will sort of get it. Regardless, it's going to be nuts this weekend. I don't get it. They're just old-fashion boats. How many of you effers went and saw, "Master and Commander". Should have been more of you, then we'd have nice things like sequels.
