will bring down prices. His example was how the price of Lasik surgery has come down because the market can work. Does he really buy the shit that he says? He picks something that is purely elective. Where patients can make a personal decision based on cost (glasses or Lasik, and Lasik has to compete against that low-cost alternative). Also that price has come down "despite" Obamacare, because he picked something generally not covered by insurance anyway. Now let's look at it when someone is facing open heart surgery and they can get the best there is or the low cost alternative. Let's see what decisions people make now. Asking seriously because he's a guy viewed as principled (even if you don't agree with him). Does he actually buy that argument or does he make it because he's so vested in the principle and he isn't willing to really acknowledge its limitations?
