you can unlock from your phone if you have a hub or an ATV gen 4 and a homekit lock. I favor this over keypad because

what I like about the keypad is that my parents can get in if they arrive before I get home from work, etc.

the child point is valid (if the child doesn't have a cell phone). you could easily give your parents a bluetooth code, though. -- nm
