I much prefer the ironicly named things like the Richard M Nixon Freeway in LA which they started by finally the revolt against ruining the liveabilit

liveability of cities by slicing and dicing them with freeways stopped a few projects...so the RMN goes about a half mile on either side of the the main freeway and stops.
jeez to think about some of the plans, they were going to run a freeway from the end of 10 up Malibu, that whole coastal highway was going to be a wall of cement....
san Francisco was going to have one blocking the entire water front...well they did have it wrap the downtown embarcadero till the quake in 89, and the hayes valley was going divide the city in half shooting out golden gate park and joining with the waterfront one at the golden gate bridge it would be like building prison walls
