your inner circle, and that would be pretty normal. Refer to her friends as her friends. If she ends up having a girlfriend or boyfriend that seems like it might end up being longer term, then just be matter of fact about it if it really is a relevant topic that comes up.

I think any 14 year old, of any inclination, really wouldn't want their parents running around talking about their personal life to their friends. :)

Also - if it makes you feel better, it's a great sign that she trusts you guys and that you have kept dialogue open enough that she told you.
