I can't help but feel like how I looked at my grandma who used to openly say the n-word when I was in high school

Granted, I'm assuming that to a degree, if she's felt this way for some time she's surrounded herself with others who are similar but of her 5 or so close friends:
1 gay (guy)
1 bi (close friend since grade school)
1 gay (the girl she likes)
1 trans (friend)
2 straight (that I know of)
