I've read that there are some decent yet affordable hotels along the 7 line. You don't want to use the LIRR, it's a commuter train and is expensive.

Let me talk to my gf but if you'd like you can crash here. I don't see it being a problem plus you can come and go as you please. Coming home late won't be an issue either.
