I think the issue is my requirements, not the tv sales though. those exist.

the thing is I was given a subscription to directvnow for my birthday (1 year) and I would like to be able to use that in a bedroom tv where I can start a show (or catchup a show) and fall asleep.
most of the low-end tvs arent "smart" and the ones being sold, like the TCL ones at amazon, dont work for that app.
So basically I should have bought the $99 non-smart tv last night at amazon and spent $40 on a roku stick to get what I wanted. but I didnt realize that until that tv was sold out.
sams club has a basic 32" vizio for $150, I might just end up with that at this rate.
