As for amanda's dilemma, I would suggest something with peaches or pears.

Haagen-Dazs used to have a flavor that was exclusive to Wal-Mart that was great. It was spiced peach crumble. They apparently cooked peaches with nutmeg, cinnamon, and probably some other spices then mixed them in with sweet cream ice cream. They also added pieces of buttery crust. That's going by a picture of a label I found.
Talenti also has a peach butter biscuit flavor (though it's been renamed). I don't remember getting pear ice cream, but I would grab some if I saw it.
