To a degree. But it's also just an easier distinguishing factor than others because it's somewhat unique.

It's a lot harder to distinguish between players just based on stats. It is sort of a "stat" that shows his dominance and will to win. But it will be diluted if the Warriors win 4 in a row and people say Curry or Durant is better than Jordan because he didn't win 4 in a row. It starts to become a meaningless fact at that point.
