Another sad report from my local Kmart where everything's 10-50% off in a definitely NOT clearance/going out of business sale (*wink* *wink*)

A number of name-brand products are in short supply or missing entirely from the shelves. Unbiquitous Johnson & Johnson products, for instance, are in short supply and on clearance, suggesting that the supplier is no longer stocking them, probably due to lack of payment. This would be like them not having Coca-cola products.
Walking around the store, the mood is somber, like a cancer ward. Those in the know - shoppers and employees - don't make eye contact, a little bit embarrassed that you're at Kmart, colored by knowledge of the inevitable.
Parts of the toy section is now shelving for overstock of paper towels. Men's clothing is dwindling; there's still Fruit of the Loom products, but selection is sparse, while Hanes products are gone; special labels like Adam Levine brand clothing, is on clearance.
