Ugh! That sucks. It bothers me to see them adding to the game without fixing the many problems.

They should fix the many glitches like you have and the multitude of others.
They need to release in the wild more of the rarer Pokemon. I've played since the release and there are some that aren't regional that I've never seen or only seen once. That's just ridiculous. I caught a Snorlax last summer and that was the one and only time I've seen it so how am I supposed to power him up without using him as my buddy? There are a lot of Pokemon like that where you get one or two but that's it and they'll just sit there taking up space.
There needs to be more Pokemon that aren't the common ones.
