Most of the jobs open are for special education teacher assistants. As I have some special ed background/worked as a sp.ed. assistant 20 years ago, I do think it would be a good fit.

Even though it's been 20 years, should I be asking some of the people I worked with then for a reference? Or is it too long ago to make a difference? (I am not FB friends with either, but I was thinking of contacting either the sp.ed. teacher I worked for, or the mother of the student I was a 1:1 aide for. I touched base with the mom on FB a few years ago...)
