it takes a pretty significant blow to the head or possibly body, to get a concussion.

wrestlers spend years learning how to fall correctly to minimize impact on the body, and especially the head.
The problem in football is the players leading with their heads. Players are getting kneed in the head or hit helmet to helmet multiple times a game, not to mention blindside hits that give you no time to brace for the hit.
