Well, you start with 16 people, most wins and then most points among non-winners (how the hell points are assigned, I dunno anymore)

then after three races, they remove the bottom 4 (but win and you advance)...then do it again from 12 to 8, then 8 to 4...for the 10th race...which is best finisher of the 4 left.
It's a cluster fuck of confusion -- all because Kurt Busch and Matt Kenseth were boringly consistent for 9 months.
