What's happened to the GOP over the last decade is the result of the strategy for a permanent majority.
(Not that individual Democrats haven't benefits from this as well, but based on state and federal representation, it's clear which party has benefited from it most in terms of numbers and power, and is reaping the rewards of extreme ideology and internal craziness)
